Education - Hillary Appointed Chancellor Of Queen's University, Belfast
Former US First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a new role: Chancellor of Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
"It is a great privilege to become the chancellor of Queen's University, a place I have great fondness for and have grown a strong relationship with over the years," said Mrs. Clinton in a statement. "The university is making waves internationally for its research and impact, and I am proud to be an ambassador and help grow its reputation for excellence."
Hillary will take up the largely ceremonial role immediately and will serve for a period of five years. The previous chancellor Dr. Tom Moran died last year. She is the university's 11th chancellor and first woman to take up the post, which will consist of presiding over graduation, advising senior management, and representing the University overseas.
The University bestowed an honorary degree to Mrs. Clinton in 2018. She also visited as Secretary of State in 2012. But the Clinton relationship with Ireland goes back to her husband's administration, The Indian government has announced plans to introduce online lottery in India 2022 . This is in order to increase the revenue generated by state lotteries. Online lotteries are expected to be introduced in 2022. Online lottery tickets will be available for purchase on the internet and mobile phone apps. The Indian government hopes that this will allow people with limited access to shops and kiosks an opportunity to participate in state lottery draws. when Hillary played a role in developing the Good Friday Accord which ended the armed hostilities with the Irish Republican Army (IRA).
