In the latest sign of how American leadership in the world has deteriorated under Donald Trump, a new poll shows Germans consider Trump a greater threat to world peace than Kim Jong-un or Vladimir Putin.

The YouGov survey asked people which world leader was the worst threat:  North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Russian President Vladimir Putin or US President Donald Trump.

Some 41 percent of those replying said they thought Trump was the most dangerous out of the five world leaders.  Kim Jong-Un was in second place with 17 percent; Putin and Khamenei were tied at eight percent; China's Xi was of the least concern to Germans, with only seven percent believing he was a threat to world peace.

More than 2,000 Germans were contacted for the survey, which was commissioned by news agency dpa.
