A series of climate change-themed tweets from a National Park in the northern United States were deleted without explanation, amid growing concern that the Trump administration is silencing US government climate scientists and other workers.

The tweets disappeared from the Badlands National Park timeline by the end of the business day on the US east coast.  Many people had already gotten screenshots before they were erased, so they didn't disappear from the internet completely.  The National Parks Service did not explain why this happened.

But it follows a rift between Donald Trump and the National Park Service (NPS), which had sent out information showing that far fewer people showed up for Trump's inauguration than had attended the inaugurations of former President Barack Obama in 2009 and 2013.  The vindictive and thin-skinned orange clown took his revenge by ordering the NPS to stop tweeting.

This also came after the Trump administration ordered the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), along with the departments of the Interior, Agriculture , and Commerce to stop sharing information with the public about their tax-payer funded work, including through social media accounts.  The media blackout at the EPA bans staff from awarding new contracts or posting on any of the agency's social media accounts.  The agency's main twitter accounthas not posted anything since 19 January, the day before the inauguration.

Buzzfeed got a copy of the memo ordering the Ag Department to cease providing news releases, photos, and fact sheets, as well as news feeds and social media content.  The wording is so vague that scientists aren't sure if they're allowed to publish studies in academic journals or present findings at conferences.  Many scientists are preparing for the Trump White House to unleashed a full-scale assault on climate research.

It's getting difficult to keep up with the flurry of fascist nonsense coming from the White House, and maybe that is by design.  A constant stream of threats and lies makes it easier to control frightened people.  Before the day ended in America, Trump:  Made a vague threat to declare martial law in Chicago because of the homicide rate; hinted he would sign orders banning immigrants, refugees, some visa holders from Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen; and prepared to divert federal funds to build that stupid freaking wall along the Mexican border.
