Health - Fourth Case Of Meningococcal Disease In Hobart
Another case of meningococcal disease has been diagnosed in Hobart, the fourth in a series of infections in Tasmania in two weeks.
The ABC reports that the most recent patient is believed to be a man.
The previous case is a three month old baby is believed to be in a stable condition in Adelaide’s Women's and Children's Hospital. The parents of the child, identified as "Violet", discovered red spots on her stomach and legs and sought medical help.
A 20-year old man was before that, and he has already released to hospital.
But the first case, 16-year-old Sarah Rose Beltz died after contracting the W strain of meningococcal disease earlier this month.
