And now, consequences:  Former Philippine president Fidel Ramos has resigned as China envoy for current President Rodrigo Duterte.  Ramos blasted Duterte's first 100 days as president a "huge disappointment and letdown":  He singled out Duterte's "war on drugs" that has gotten thousands of people killed; and Ramos criticized Duterte's alienation of the Philippines biggest ally, the US.  "Are we throwing away decades of military partnership, tactical proficiency, compatible weaponry, predictable logistics and soldier-to-soldier camaraderie just like that?" Ramos asked in a scathing editorial, in which he called Duterte "full of S--T!".  In addition to the loss of a popular member of his team, Duterte learned this week that the US is considering stopping the sale of 10,000 M-4 rifles to Philippine forces, after Duterte's insults towards Washington.

US President Barack Obama lightly chided FBI director James Comey for politicizing America's national police force.  Mr. Obama said said US investigations should not operate on the basis of "innuendo" or "incomplete information".  Last week, Comey said agents discovered emails that might be related to the controversy over Hillary Clinton's private email server (which wasn't a crime, anyway).  Later it emerged that the emails weren't written by Hillary now sent by her server, but not before the story polluted the US News cycle and dented Mrs. Clinton's poll numbers just days before next week's presidential election.  As a result, it invigorated the presidential campaign of a known conman, talentless businessman, self-described sex abuser, and retweeter of racists and fascists.  Good luck, world!

In Mississippi, police are investigating an arson fire at a 111-year-old church that had "vote trump" spray painted on its side.  It's being called a hate crime because the congregation is predominantly black.  A GoFundMe page set up to rebuild the church has already raised more than its initial goal.

Police in Des Moines, Iowa in the center of the US arrested a white, male, middle-aged christian terrorist for murdering two police officers overnight in separate ambushes minutes apart.  46-year-old man Scott Greene was previously known to police as petty criminal and racist who brought a confederate battle blag to a sporting event at a predominantly black high school because he felt the "Black Lives Matter" movement was disrespectful to police.

Two women from Northern Ireland told the UK Supreme Court that women in the six counties are "second class citizens" because they do not have access to the same NHS-funded abortion care as women in the rest of the the UK.  The young woman and her mother had to travel to Manchester at a cost of more than AU$1444 to get a legal termination.  Unlike the rest of the UK,  Northern Ireland allows abortion only if a woman's life is at risk or there is a permanent or serious risk to her physical or mental health.  Last year, 833 women traveled from NI to England and Wales to exercise their reproductive rights.

Russia changed the locks on Amnesty International's office in Moscow, and put an official seal on the door making it illegal to open.  Amnesty won't call it "official revenge" for the group's criticism of the deteriorating human rights situation in Putin's Russia just yet, although it has complained of harassment by police and authorities in the past.  Amnesty says it always paid the rent on the office, which is in a city-owned building, on time.

Scuffles between orthodox and reformed Judaic groups broke out on the Western Wall in Jerusalem over the right of women to pray at the important cultural asset of Israel.  Conservative and Reform leaders led a prayer with "Women of the Wall" when the orthodox went bat-shyte crazy, attacking people and trying to take their Torahs.  Earlier this year, the Israeli cabinet affirmed the right of women to pray at the wall, but a gender neutral area hasn't been created yet because of pressure from the orthodox.

The hard-line conservative faction of Venezuela's opposition is on the verge of killing a Vatican-brokered peace deal with the government.  After both sides agreed to "cool the rhetoric" and the government released five opposition politicians from jail, the opposition agreed to cancel a national protest and a mock trial of President Nicolas Maduro.  But the hard-liners led by US-educated rabble-rouser Leopoldo Lopez objected and threatened to hold its own events.  Rhetoric on both sides heated up again, and the four scheduled meetings on ending the South America country's political stalemate are in danger.  Hilariously, President Maduro reacted to it by salsa-dancing with his wife during the recording of his new radio program, Salsa Hour.  Yes:  The president has his own Salsa music radio show.
