Good Morning Australia!! - New developments in the murder of a NSW man in Canada - The EU limits Boris Johnson's options - Two cops are sacked for threatening to murder a US lawmaker - And more in your CareerSpot Global News Briefs:

Canadian police named two teens as suspects in the murders of Lucas Fowler, the 23-year old son of a NSW Police Chief Inspector, and his 24-year old American girlfriend Chynna Deece.  The two were found murdered in horrific circumstances on a remote road in northern British Columbia.  Royal Canadian Mounted Police are searching for Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky, aged 19 and 18 respectively; the local teens apparently were on a road trip from their hometown of Port Alberni, BC, to look for work in the northern Yukon.  There are going to be a lot more developments in this story as the search progresses - the teens were originally considered to be missing but are now suspected in three murders, allegedly fleeing in a stolen grey Toyota Rav 4.

Despite a long history of mistakes, racist or sexist comments, lying, and general incompetence, members of the UK Conservative Party voted overwhelmingly for Boris Johnson to be their new leader - and thus the new Prime Minister.  Within minutes European Union officials were making it clear that they've already committed to a Brexit deal - the one already struck by outgoing PM Theresa May's team.  Frans Timmermans, the European Commission’s first vice president, told reporters in Brussels:  "I think the position of the EU is also clear: the United Kingdom reached an agreement with the European Union and the European Union will stick with that agreement.  We will hear what the new prime minister has to say when he comes to Brussels."

The culmination of Boris Johnson's life-long career ambition coincidentally happened on the UK's hottest day of the year, leading critics to point out the incoming PM's history of voting against measures to prevent climate change; he recently told members of the climate campaigning group Extinction Rebellion to go "lecture China" instead of the UK government on global warming, and once repeated a TV weather forecaster's thoroughly incorrect claim that low solar activity could lead to a mini ice age.  Good Luck, UK!

That heat wave is expected to set records all over Europe:  The French city of Bordeaux has hit its highest temperature since records began, 41.2 C Degrees.  The World Meteorological Organization said this is the result of climate change:  "As we saw in June they are becoming more frequent, they're starting earlier and they're becoming more intense," said WMO spokesperson Claire Nullis, "It's not a problem that's going to go away."

South Korean fighter jets fired hundreds of warning shots at a Russian military surveillance plane that flew over disputed islands in the Sea of Japan.  Seoul says 360 rounds were fired.  Japan also sent military planes over the islands it called Takeshima, but South Korea also claims as Dokdo.  Russia claims it was carrying out a planned drill over neutral waters.

Russian boxer Maxim "Mad Max" Dadashev is dead after losing a bout in Washington, DC on Friday night by TKO.  His trainer threw in the towel in the 11th Round after noticing Dadashev taking a pounding to the head delivered by Puerto Rico's Subriel Matias.  After the fight, Dadashev was rushed into emergency surgery to stop bleeding in his brain but he died in hospital on Monday.

And now..

Two American cops were fired over a social media post suggesting one would assassinate New York City's progressive firebrand congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, with the other one liking the post.  Gretna, Louisiana police officer Charlie Rispoli was apparently dumb enough to believe a satirical item (fake news) on the internet claiming that AOC thought US soldiers were "paid too much", responding to it by calling her a "vile idiot" who deserved "a round", referring to a gunshot.  Officer Angelo Variscom clicked "like", and also lost his job.  Chief Arthur Lawson called the actions an "embarrassment", and now his department has two job openings.

Rep. Ocasio Cortez accused Donald Trump of stochastic terrorism - inflaming violent passions among his voter base - with his racist and factually vacant attacks on her and three other freshman Democratic Congresswomen known as "The Squad": "This is Trump's goal when he uses targeted language & threatens elected officials who don’t agree (with) his political agenda,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Monday. "It's authoritarian behavior.  The President is sowing violence.  He's creating an environment where people can get hurt & he claims plausible deniability."  Last week, AOC actually had to call out Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan over a secret Facebook group of Border Patrol agents which featured photoshopped images of Trump participating in a violent sexual assault on her.  McAleenan was forced to admit the posts were "unacceptable".

The US FBI has has made around a hundred "domestic terrorism-related arrests since October" according to FBI Director Christopher Wray - and he adds that the "majority of the domestic terrorism cases that we've investigated are motivated by some version of what you might call white supremacist violence".  Testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee where Democrats expressed concerns the Feds aren't taking racist violence "seriously", Wray said, "We the FBI don’t investigate the ideology, no matter how repugnant.  We investigate violence.  And any extremist ideology, when it turns to violence, we're all over it.

Anyway...

BABY GIRAFFE ALERT!!!
