Hello Australia!! - North Korea loses a submarine amid heightened tensions - Turkish saillors are caught on video attacking the poorest and most vulnerable - Documenting the escalating evil of Donald Trump's presidential campaign - And more in your CareerSpot World News Briefs:

A North Korean submarine is missing and western official presume it sunk.  According to a report in the US Naval Institute journal, the US Navy was tracking the submarine near one of the North's submarine bases on the Sea of Japan when it suddenly disappeared.  North Korea has not acknowledged any incident, nor has it attempted any rescue in the area.  This comes amid the largest-ever military exercises with South Korea and its US allies, which Pyongyang has gotten all huffy over and threatened pre-emptive strikes to stop.

Video has emerged showing the Turkish coastguard attacking a migrant boat filled with men, women, and children on its way from Turkey to the Greek island of Lesbos.  Sailors are shown beating the migrants with batons, who cry out in Arabic and Farsi.  The incident happened on Saturday morning.  Later this week, European Union and Turkish officials will meet over stopping the migrant boats - now, we have an idea how Turkey might do it.

Far right thugs have admitted they impersonated police to harass and shake down migrants at the French port city Calais, where thousands are camped out to try and cross the channel to the UK.  The five suspects are in jail before a preliminary court date this week.  Officials say they would not "let extremist movements manipulate the migrant crisis".

Fascist demagogue and scaredy cat Donald Trump's pants grew heavier at a campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio when a protester tried to get on stage, causing the orange clown to panic.  The suspect was identified as Thomas Dimassimo who was charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic - both misdemeanors, according to Dayton police.  This is a day after he cancelled his scheduled rally in the center of Chicago when protesters got into the venue, and made up about a third to half of the crowd.  You see, Trump is brave with his racist, sexist, and xenophobic rhetoric only when his rallies hold hundreds of supporters to eleven or so protesters.  Otherwise, the odds are too scary!

President Barack Obama has weighed in on the US presidential election, advising candidates (actually, just Trump) to avoid inflammatory language.  Americans, said President Obama, should not resort to "insults" and "certainly not violence against other Americans".  Each of the remaining Republicans in the race have criticized Trump for stirring up trouble with his violent talk.  But none have had the guts to say they wouldn't support him if he wins the party's presidential nomination.

BTW, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow has done a great job of documenting the increasing aggressiveness of Trump's garbage, echoing third-world strongman style politics.

Thousands of Peruvians protested in the streets of Lima against the candidacy of Keiko Fujimori, daughter of the murderous 1990s fascist dictator Alberto Fujimori who is serving a 25-year prison term for corruption and human rights abuses, especially forces sterilizations of poor and indigenous women.  The protesters want Fujimori banned from running for the presidency because of allegations of vote-buying.  Electoral authorities are investigating the accusations after photographs and video reportedly showed her and a running mate handing out gifts at rallies.  But the electoral board is also accused of wrongdoing, disqualifying two candidates that greatly boost Fujimori's chances of winning the 10 April election.

In Poland, around 50,000 people marched and rallied in Warsaw against the right wing government's stand-off with the courts.  The ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party enacted a law curtailing the power of the Constitutional Court, which immediately ruled against the law.  Each side says the other is in violation of the law.  The PiS's increasing authoritarianism is drawing criticism from the European Union and United States.

Syria's foreign minister confirms his country will take part in peace talks in Geneva on Monday, but insists that changing the presidency is off the table.  Western-backed opposition groups want President Bashar al-Assad and his government gone, and the removal of Assad is the only reason why the opposition groups agreed to go to Geneva.  Al Qaeda and Islamic State are not part of the peace talks.
