His parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan appeared at last week's Democratic National Convention, with father Khizr waving his personal copy of the US Constitution while noting that his hero son would never have been allowed in the United States under Trump's despicable plan to stop Muslim immigration, and pointing out the Trump has never made any sacrifice for his country. On Saturday, Trump appeared in interviews suggesting that Captain Khan's mother was forbidden to speak because the family is Muslim, and (no hyperbole, this is happening) claiming that he "sacrificed" by being involved in construction projects.
