A 21-year old Russian woman is in hospital in a “serious” condition after accidentally shooting herself in the head.  The unnamed woman grabbed the gun and went outside to take a selfie with one hand while holding the weapon in the other.  Apparently, she wasn’t very coordinated.

The report appeared in Russia’s state-owned media, and was confirmed by police.  The woman shot herself in the temple at close range, and was taken to Sklifosovsky Hospital in the Russian capital. 

Officials say she found the 9-millimeter handgun in her office, possibly left behind by a careless security guard.  The owner of the gun could face up to six months in jail for storage for negligent storage of weapons.
