Russia’s Ambassador to Australia has finished his meeting with the Foreign Affairs department to explain his country’s actions in Ukraine – A meeting demanded by Canberra after Russian troops successfully occupied Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula on the Black Sea.
Speaking to reporters through an interpreter after the meeting, Ambassador Vladimir Morozov said the change in government was not democratic and based on the whims of the Maidan crowd occupying Kiev – a crowd that Moscow has repeatedly pointed out contains neo-nazis and anti-Semites in the Svoboda and Right Sector parties.
“We clearly see the anti-Russian hysterical trends,” Morozov said. “We also see the deprivation of the history of especially of the Second World War and that the ultra Nazis are coming to power in Kiev.”
Morozov also denied Foreign Minister Julie Bishop’s accusation that Moscow had ordered an invasion of Ukraine beyond Crimea.
“Nothing is going on with any invasion to Ukraine,” he said.
