Rwandan President Paul Kagame is running for a third term in office, after a referendum approved constitutional changes to allow him to run for three further terms. That could conceivably keep him in office until 2034. Kagame has pretty much run Rwanda's politics since his rebel army stopped the 1994 genocide. Presidents are seeking third terms in the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the decision of Burundi's president to seek a third term set off violence that has killed around 100 people in that country.

Her 1975 debut album yielded the hit "This will be", the first of a long line of chart toppers that peaked with 1991's "Unforgettable", a duet with prerecorded vocals from her father Nat King Cole. Along the way, her life experienced a lot of ups and downs not least of which was her struggle with drug addiction and hepatitis C, which she detailed in her 2000 autobiography Angel on my Shoulder.
