Furious 7 opened to a record box office haul: The Universal movie opened to a franchise-best A$504 Million over the weekend at the global box office, including A$15 Million in Oz and US$143.6 Million on the streets it knows best in America (That’s $43 Million more than can be fit into a giant safe and dragged around the city by two Dodge R/T Chargers fitted with Nos). It’s the biggest opening of the year, the number three foreign opening of all time, and number four in America. Furious 7 is the last film appearance by the late actor Paul Walker whose character Brian O’Connor pretty much formed the narrative of the series. Not to worry, last week Vin Diesel leaked that an 8th installment is in the works.
