Muslim Extremists Kidnap Scores Of Girls In Nigeria
Attackers suspected to be from the Islamist group Boko Haram abducted around one hundred students from a girl’s school in northeastern Nigeria. The militants easily overpowered soldiers who had been sent to provide extra security at the girl ahead of annual exams.
Ukraine Cracks Down On Pro-Russian Militants
Ukraine’s interim President Olexander Turchynov says the armed forces have commenced an “anti-terrorist operation” aimed at dislodging pro-Russian separatists from government buildings and police stations in the eastern part of the country. Russian president Vladimir Putin reportedly phoned German Chancellor Angela Merkel to say Ukraine is “on the verge of civil war”.

US and local authorities in Kansas say they will pursue hate crime charges against the avowed anti-Semite and former Ku Klux Klan leader who allegedly shot and killed three people outside a Jewish community center and a Jewish retirement home.
At Least 71 Killed In Nigeria Explosion
Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan visited outskirts of the capital, Abuja, where a terrorist bomb exploded, killing at least 71 people. He suggested the Islamist militant group Boko Haram was responsible, although there’s been no claim of responsibility.

Robot Sub Called Off From MH370 Search
CNN is reporting that the unmanned underwater vehicle Bluefin 21 has already aborted its first day of attempting to search for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 in the Indian Ocean of Australia’s west coast, and come back to the surface. The reason was that the ocean was apparently much deeper in the search area than originally believed.
Dozens Killed In Bus Crash
Only four people survived the fiery crash of a bus into the back of a broken down truck on a highway in southeastern Mexico. The truck parked in the road’s beltway without any signal or warnings for oncoming vehicles. 36 people were killed.

Argentina is accusing the UK of “provocation”, because of this week’s planned military exercises in the Falkland Islands, which Buenos Aires says will include missile launches. Argentina also claims the islands and calls them “Las Malvinas”.
